While inspired by the Gibson Falcon amps from the 50s and 60s, the Falcon 20 is a new design from renowned amp pioneer Randall Smith and the MESA/Boogie® Design Team. Handcrafted in Petaluma, California, the Falcon 20 stands out from its predecessors thanks to modern quality-of-life upgrades and tonal improvements informed by Randall’s five decades of tube amp design experience and performance-pushing mindset.Vintage aesthetics combine with the exclusive Surf Bronco vinyl and Bone grille cloth, resulting in an amplifier that looks stylish on stage or in the studio while providing vintage-inspired tone with modern features for today’s players. The control panel takes a simple approach, with Volume and Tone controls to shape the dry sound and gain level of the amplifier. Footswitchable onboard reverb and tremolo then add three-dimensional depth and vintage vibe to the Falcon 20’s sound.Convenient modern features include Multi-Watt™ technology and a Monitor Output. Using the supplied 6V6 power tubes, Multi-Watt technology allows the player to select between Full, Half, or Low (12, 5, or 1-watt) power modes for precise control over volume and clean headroom. As a result, power amp overdrive can be achieved without peeling paint from the walls and can be adjusted to suit many playing environments. The Falcon 20 can also be powered by a pair of optional 6L6 power tubes to bump the switchable power ratings to 15, 6, or 2-watts.
